Your favorite lens for 5D on Stedicam?

Thanks! It was a fun career. Even though it's done I can't quite bring myself to take down that part of my site, for old times sake.

I think an 85 on a small stabiliser - pilot or a handheld device is extremely challenging (such rigs are a lot more twitchy than the big rigs) , again an ultra wide like a 16 (remember we are talking 'full frame' here) is also challenging, hence my original answer of 28mm being my fav lens on the 5d, particularly the PC shft version which can dial in some boom

Alas, I'm low budget. I don't have a way to pull remote focus (yet), so I tend to use a Zeiss 35mm. It's not super wide, but still keeps things sharp. The Canon 24mm 1.4 will also serve you well, if you're operating alone. Obviously this is not the preferred method of working, but you can still get some nice shots.

I think a lot of Wedding Guys use their Stedicam as their mobile tripod....not just for the classic stedicam shots.

Heard of one guy who had his DSLR camera around his neck taking photos and dropping it to his strap to move his other DSLR which he had on his Stedicam over to the front for a video shot.

Two for the price of one...would have liked to see his sales pitch on a website. This is an interesting thread.
