I just got my 100B. I turned it on and got a warning flashing on the screen..."Warning--Focus Lock". No image through the veiwers. I switched to VCR mode and when i came back to camera it said "Gyro-NG". I can't find anything about "Warning--Focus Lock" and only a nebulous reference to Gyro--NG. No help.

I pushed reset. Now I get "Warning--Focus Lock" but there is a physical clicking sound like a gear has slipped somewhere inside. Any history of this. Am I missing something? Is this thing screwed?

Any input would be helpful. I bought this thing to shoot a music festival herein Anchorage that starts TOMORROW. Yikes....

Thanks in advance...Patric

Patric,

The error message you're seeing is relative to the AIS or image stabilization circuitry/gyro stabilizer. The gyro has frozen or locked in a fixed positon. The two most likely causes are either the camera body took a hit or, there was a manufacturing defect during assembly.

Either way, you need to take it back to the retailer and it get it exchanged/repaired by Panasonic.
