Hey guys,

I'm getting ready to buy a 500, but I want to check something real quick first. I have a sony DSR-400 with a Fuji A20x8.6BERM-SD lens with a 2x extender on it. I'd like to be able to buy the 500 with the lens that doesn't have an extender so I can save some cash, and just swap the two. Will the lens I have now fit?

You will lose the CAC function, which works really well and makes low cost HD glass look much better than they really are due to correcting chromatic aberration. I'm not a big believer in having to use HD glass on a camera like an HPX500. I've found that very good SD glass can look good, but it is unlikely that CA will be absent, whereas the CAC enabled HD lenses really get rid of CA. This alone makes the cost of a low-end HD lens a bargain, IMO.
