yet another PAINTBALL video

EP2005

:kali: im leaving for cali for a month to shoot a short, and was asked to pump out a quick video focusing on a Airbunker field.

an airbunker field is what it sounds like, flat clear land with inflatable "bunkers" for protection.

critisism is wanted. Not sure if the music is too repetative and i should add another song at the end.

compression is a bit small, hard to see details (like flying paintballs), i would suggest not enlarging the clip.

Thanks once again everyone. :costumed-smiley-047

right-click and 'save as' please!

Not sure what you were going for, but it seemed too long. Not just because of the song either. The intensity of the video should match that of the song. You did this successfully for the most part, but maybe some revising would help better intensify this spot.

Good stuff overall, though.

I liked the quick cuts with the music.

The shots from behind the players are cool because you can see where the paint is flying and it puts you way more into the action that just a

camera shot from the side.

I agree a little too long for the repitition of the small field. I would cut out the long clip in the middle.

Oh and you should have some sound of the paint hitting the bunkers that always sounds crazy.

Good work and hope you kept your camera clean.

^Here is the trailer that I did for a local paintball tournament (used an xl2). Do you play for a team? I play D2 Xball with chaos maybe if you play psp we can get a media pass and make a dvd (I'm thinking 10 steps ahead...lol)

Also, this was my first time shooting anything paintball related. I ended up missing a lot of good shoots trying to protect my camera. On top of that filming paintball might just be more dangerous then actually playing the game (I had about 50 welts to prove it).

I dont play too much myself. I have and can definatly dish out, ive just been busy with the filming aspect of it. I just signed on to do a DVD for this upcoming season of a paintball field that just opened in MI. Should be interesting.

I'd definatly be down with doing a paintball DVD. maybe even combine footage. I love shooting it, very fast paced and an adrenaline rush. helps you be a better player, seeing how people think and move and play. filming is WAY more dangerous than playing, there's been a couple times i had to take a break because my camera and myself were inches from total mayhem.

That looked really cool man! Nice editing and stuff, but the compression could be better.

Now someone do this at 720/60p with the HVX:Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I can't wait to shoot paintball with my HVX! I'll post some stuff once AVS sends my baby.

Where in MI? That is where my team is based out of (I have to drive from Pittsburgh to MI every weekend in the summer).

check that out, its being updated constantly. The field is based out of Shelby Township, which is about 30 miles north of detroit. PLUS, we play every sunday (or every other) and since it just opened up, there will be no charge this season, just like last season. Let me know if you wanna come out, bring your team, or whatnot, its an all natural field, and i dont know of any natural fields that look and play this good.

and yes, while uncompressed dvx footage of this looks amazing on tv, the hvx would make this footage phenominal, although id be quite worried using that camera around the action, i already have heart attacks using my dvx!

you guys, when shooting paintball, you have to make a Plexi box. 3/4 plywood on 5 sides 2 sheets 1/4 plexy in the front. screw it to the camera Via the tripod mount, monitor trhough a hole in the back to look though viewfinder, or if youre brave leave the back open and use the Viewfinder. (dvx gigantic viewfinder Score 1) Usethe remote control to rec and operate the zoom.

I built one of these planning otshoot a paintball Tourney for a field near my house. then 26" of snow fell and Tourney was no more.

but that thing was totoally rock solid.
it takes time, but you can getshots that noone else can, cause you can get right in the ****.
