Yet another 24 Hour Film

I once promised myself I'd never do a 24 hour film. Well I make alot of promises. Anyways, this was for a "24 Hour Xmas Challenge", presented by Minnesota Film Arts and The Onion. The rules were as follows-

1. Must feature a scene of Mommy Kissing a Santa Claus that isn't daddy.

2. Must have a snow scene.

3. Must have a POV shot.

4. Must take place within the confines of an vehicle. (we interpreted that main event must take place within vehicle)

5. Must not use any prerecorded Christmas Music.

This is the actual 24 hour Film, I have changed nothing except encoded to .mov. I know the blacks don't match between shots. I was pretty insane by the time I started color correction, so I never got that right, but at least I attempted it (I don't think anyone else did). Shot with a DVX (actually 2 DVX's, one with a 35mm adaptor).

Thanks for watching.

Shots inside the car looked really really good. Loved the monochromatic color scheme with the scarlet Santa hat. I enjoyed the strange tension between these two odd guys preparing for a kiss...but gotta tell you...it was a let down going black for the kiss! What, you don't think we're grown up enough to actually see the kiss? It would have been the pay-off to this weird, surreal moment between the two characters. If you'd gone the distance it would have worked!

hahaha, that made me laugh. It was a little slow but the tension of what he must have been thinking was good. Yeah he could have had better facial expressions to bring forth the uneasiness but the idea came across fine with the line "gimme a minute. "

Yeah... it was part of the initial idea to cut right before the kiss as a joke on the audience... you know, cause the whole thing is about that awkwardness before the kiss. We thought maybe the audience would be waiting... waiting and then nothing. Regardless, I think you may be right, it doesn't have the coyness level needed for the joke to work, so it looks like a cop out. Oh well. I did have a shot where their lips touch, but I doubt it would be the hilarious kiss it should be.

Thanks for the feedback, everybody!
