Yes, I need a tripod, this one?

i did a few searches on the forums and narrowed my choice for a tripod like this one, i guess i don't really need a case, but who knows

recently got a dvx100b for short films/music videos and maybe some small weddings

i'm willing to spend around $700 dollars, hopefully less, in a good tripod for smooth pans etc.

i've never purchased a tripod, i rent really heavy bogen ones from school
 
I think you'll be very pleased with the 503 head and the legs too, works really well with my dvx100b. A case definitely does come in handy, so much easier to transport the tripod around and prevents it from getting beat up in the trunk of your car haha
 
Get a true fluid head...libec....libec....libec....if you are just going to use the raw dvx the ls38 is plenty..... just an option....texastapeworks.com can beat any deal from B+h and they are super nice dudes...
