Yellowish color tint on 5.6k white balance preset?

Has anyone experienced the 5.6K preset as very yellow? Noticed that when balanced manually and the colortemp. are 5.6k it has a much more neutral color(and proper white balance) than the preset.

My hpx are a demo modell from late 2007.

The greenish white balance was discussed extensively here about a year ago. It's a known issue; contact your service center for a fix.

you know what...not for nothing but..
i just bought my new HPX500 about 2 months ago,
i just don't see why we have to deal with this at this date and time.
like you said "The greenish white balance was discussed extensively here about a year ago"....
and it still is not fixed.....?
I just don't use the preset......there Panny i fixed the problem for you....

Ok......there's been over 100+ people looking at this thread and no one has replyed to it. Did every one sent there camera in for a fix?

If i have to spend my time and money to fix this, there should be some kind of info on the "PASS" site. I can't find it?

SO.....Exactly.....How does one get this fixed?

thanks, Paul

You have to send to Panasonic in New Jersey if you're in the US. Contact your rep first and maybe they can expedite.

Very nice folks there. It takes about a week and is worth it. But don't get me started about why it was shipped that way. Something about using the same look up table as the 200 but having a different lens is the reason I heard.

As far as I can tell there was only 1 production run of the 500 and all of them shipped that way. So unless yours has been fixed it has that problem.

Just a quick note along the same lines. The camera really needs more ND then the filter wheel has to shoot in daylight. F11 just doesn't cut it.

Sometimes I think Panny would just like to forget this one and move on.

However I still think it's one of the best cameras for low budget docs, industrials, and indie features.
