Here is my first attempt at creating a movie Opener, not sure what its called so ill just go with that name.

There is not yet any sound, just the editing and first take at something i think can turn out really good, if not better with the help of everyone here.

Or if ya like it, kewl, but feel free to critique it, thats the main reason this is here. Please stay with the idea tho, i am very fond of it, but if you have ideas for the lettering of once upon a time, music and sound ideas, or just little comments and suggestsions, let them spill!

( first atempt at this, be nice hehe )

Well, i got to say i liked the initial dolly shot and the color transition. The 'Once upon a time' font i felt could have been made better if you had used some of those old style handwritten type fonts, and you could have that effect where each letter kinda shines in. Not sure how you call it. Just a small points i felt needed raised - 1, maybe its a bit long for an opener? 2, is there a way to get rid of the crossfade to the book? I think it'll look much better if it was a smooth pan to the book too...

im gunna shorten the dolly shot by a second or two.

What do you mean by the crossfade. How else could i edit it, cause i have a dolly shot going into a crane shot. Starts off mad out of focus near the book and works its way up and above it looking down.

cheers!

any ideas for sound?

Well for sound i could imagine a lute playing in the background...looks like one of those old english scenes...As for the crossfade i see what you mean, so its out of focus...I guess the crossfade is the lesser of two evils - I just felt that the transition was a tad out of place is all, more a minor gripe

im going to try again cause this is retarted. especially as one who takes time to read peoples posts and watch their videos with feedback that could help them create something better.

Now thi video is 2 megs, 20 seconds long.

120 views, some ****ing feedback plz, im trying to improv this thing...

Yeah... I didn't notice it till just now. Anyway... I think you guys have pretty much touched on all the things that need adjusting.

1) it does seem a bit long (hence the shortening of the initial dolly shot)
2) the font needs to be played around with
3) I think music will help immensely

If you're set on the colors for the opening shot, then I'd suggest something "happy" as far as music is concerned. The tone of that shot is very cool, and almost make's me think we're dollying past a coffin in a funeral home ;)

I do like the color transition, though. Also like the ending.

Add some tune's, and I'll watch again.
