Yankee....Bad Santa

"The Christmas Story" and/or "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" ... now THOSE are classics.

"Bad Santa" has its moments, but for the most part is overdone IMO.

It makes it even better to know that Billy Bob Thorton was actually drunk during a lot of the filming.
Okay. I think I was in a good frame of mind for that movie because I thought some parts of it were hilarious. It did drag sometimes and I wondered where it was going at some points and I don't find the comic "trick" of using midgets all that funny but, there was something great about Billy Bob's relationship with the smart ass little guy. And you know Richie White...I quoted you because I did not know that he was actually drunk during a lot of the filming. What's funny is there were many scenes when he had that recognizable bags under the eyes, tired eyes at half mast drunk look. It made me wonder if he was hittin' the bottle between takes. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Overall, I put the movie in the same family as SWINGERS. It appeals to a certain audience. However, SWINGERS is one of my favorite movies of all time so BAD SANTA doesn't quite compete but it was real funny. I'm sure I'll think its even funnier the next time around.

Thanks for the discussion.

Yeah, Norm. I was fortunate enough to get to know him a little while he was here in Orlando negotiating his ABC deal. He was both a funny, funny man and a class act all rolled into one.
