Perfect for live music recording, this Yamaha MD-8 Multitrack Minidisc Recorder can record independently on 8-tracks when using MD-Data Disc or 2-tracks using regular minidiscs (but you can record from all the channels). Inputs include 2 XLR (with phantom power), 12 1/4-inch, RCA.
I've used this unit in my studio for a couple of years and loved it as a mixer for all of my studio sources and when I did live music productions to mix and record the multiple sources. I now use a firewire mixer and hate to see it collect dust. I just tested all sources with 1/4-inch input and it works great. No XLR source to test.
