..and i cant friggin capture. What he hell is going on..hahahah..... i did the properites thing set the device(i thnk i did it right) , because when i take a picture it works but i wont show nothing when trying to capture ...i get nothing.
help please

Make sure you are connected to he ieee 1394 device. In options in capture make sure your firewire device is selected. If you have device control, plus have selected a drive to capture to in the options/disk management section, you should have no problems.

i do...everything that i coudl possibly check is there .
...why would it be able to take stills and not video tho?

it works i got the update from vegas 6c and it seems to work
bloody hell ...phewf

holly ****, this is going to take soem getting used to..i already dont like it... :(
dont have free range of the cursor, dont know how to trim on the main timline, the trim timeline is usless....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr hahaahhaha.......

OK AFTER GIVING IT 20mins i just cant handle it.....everything is so wierd, i dont like the fact i have to use some lame bar on the timeline to cut ****, i'd like to just put the cursor over and hit cut move it over and hit cut... i dont like to move some cursor left and right..bah.....hahahaha ...i dunno...

You can make a cut by clicking on the spot in the clip where you want the cut to occur and then hitting 'S' (split) on the keyboard.

but....this damn bar keeps following me up on top its blue or whatever color is ****ing annoying..hahahahah....it bugs me....:( hahahahahahahahah....... i'm just having one of those days or somthing:angry:

oh its a huge case of RTFM:evil: :cheesy: :undecided , and also of change!! i'm comfy as hell in p.pro but since pro is a f*cking b*itch with 24p and 60i footage i needed an alternative. Well i got it, i'm putting premiere pro7 back on, i heard it does both and it works good.

Yeah... this program does take gettin' used to. Heck... it even took me like 20 mins just to figure out how to do a fade-in/fade-out. And gettin used to the trimmin' and splittin took some time for me to adjust to as well.

But the program seems to have the biggest bang for it's buck. I'm only using Movie Studio Platinum, but even the Full Versions of Vegas and DVD Production suite together are still cheaper than Premiere 7 alone. (which is good for those of us that blew all our money away on the camera, filters and adapter lens'). If I had two grand to blow away on software, then I probably would have considered the Adobe Video Collection... maybe.

ok so i've given it a little while and its working ok..figured out a few things, like
playback on sony walkman
how to fade etc
how to speed up footage
how to slow it down
effects

but now it bloody freezes each time i open it..looking for medial library?? wtf?

Was Premiere easy to use when you first used it?

You can't honestly expect to jump into a new program and edit like a pro from the first minute. Everything takes a couple of hours to get used to. No two programs are the same.

I can remember using Premiere way back in college (about 8 years ago)... and seemed easy to pick up on. I don't mind sayin' that I think Adobe puts out alot of great stuff.. just that I'm very happy with Vegas. It's gone beyond my expectations ;)

u have a point! i took for granted that it took me a long time to get to the point i am in premiere.

i did some tests with vegas exporting 24 and 60 on the same timeline
i did the same in premiere 7 and i got a better result in 7

It's all about preference in my opinion. I stand by Vegas completely but I can tell you that there are some things about Premiere that I like. It's almost impossible to get the perfect piece of software. You just find the one that is perfect for you.

James, I actually learned Vegas easier than I learned Premiere. I also learned Discreets Combustion easier than I learned After Effects. I still can't seem to get After Effects down. I pretty much gave up on that. I can't be a Jack of all Trades.

Not that I dislike Adobe, because I think Photoshop is one of the greatest products ever, but some of there software just doesn't click with me.

all adobe needs to do is fix the bloody 24 & 60i on the same timeline..that is the main reason why i went to vegas but i tested the footage out of vegas on my telly and it was **** ..i tested the footage from premiere 7 and it was fine. So i'm sticking with 7 till 1.5 gets updated and that fixed.

The good news is, once you get it all figured out, you'll see that most every task is done in the most intuitive way possible. Vegas, more than any other NLE, lends itself to ease of expression....at this stage, youre still looking for everything to be as difficult to achieve as it was in your old system, and its throwing you for a psyche trip. Soon....soon the heavens will part with rays of enlightenment shining down upon you.....and yes....you will hear the chorus of angels. :)

hahahaah....u think so......my understanding was that i can just capture whatever format and the timeline process it accordingly.....it didnt do it in vegas. I probably have to tweak a setting or two.
Right now i'll settle with premiere pro till this project is over
