FS7: XQD Media- FS7,

Has anyone had issues using non proprietary cards in the sony FS7? Any recommendations?

Assuming you mean non-Sony cards -> I've been using Lexar 1400x cards, absolutely no problems at all in any recording format!

Yes I meant non Sony. Thanks vey much. Some of the non sony media is quite a bit cheaper.

I feel that with the recent price drop, there's no reason not to buy the Sony cards.

Just a quick note, I was filming yesterday some 1080p 120fps XAVC-I and had "Playback Halted: Media Error" messages from two Lexar 1400x xqd cards.
I reformatted in camera and tried again, the camera would record the shot, but on playback, same message. I put in the two sony cards I had, no problems, recorded and played back flawlessly. I put the cards into Catalyst Prepare, one card had lost all of the clips and the other had one clip which seems fine.

I've had these Lexar cards for a few months now and they have recorded fine on 1080p and 4K/UHD XAVC-I at 25p and they have been fine, but based on this I am very reluctant to use them again for a critical job or one using HFR (fortunately it was only a fun shoot rather than a paying gig!).

And Sony includes a media reader, so it's a great bargain, if you can find them in stock.
