It's been working fine for months then suddenly it has has decided to freeze as it loads. It gets through all the stuff and finally I see "loading setup" at the bottom of the screen and then it just stops doing anything and I have to restart. This is pretty disconcerting as I have a film on tere which was needs to be scored in the next few days. Help.

Change anything recently on your computer? Install a new version of Quicktime? Update graphics drivers? Anything at all like that?

If it comes down to it, you can reinstall Avid without having to worry about losing project files and such.

Ok, figured out the problem. I was actually really scared it was the P2 drivers since I saw that other thread of them messing up Avids.

My actual problem appears to be much simpler: I had changed monitors. I was briefly using an older Samtron monitor because I hadn't unpacked my Philips plasma yet. I didn't think of this since I'd used this Samtron in the passed to edit with Avid but it had been Xpress 4.6 rather than Xpress HD 5.23. Avid started working fine once I plugged in the better monitor.
