GH5 XLR1 Module - anyone fixed the wobble?

The XLR1 Audio Module. It's a tad wobbly, especially when I add a dual radio RX on top. Anyone found a solution? Shims on the top rails of the hotshoe? What about the Smallrig cage thingy with the extra top bracket? I don't want to add weight unnecessarily, but would like to make the whole thing a bit more solid. TIA.

The SmallRig Helmet Kit works great as a protection - I never use the XLR1 on the GH5 without it. FYI: you also have to get their GH5 cage to mount the helmet kit!

The included adaptable handle is also nice for carrying the camera.

When the camera is not in use, I remove and stow the XLR1 next to the cam, in order to keep the hot shoe contact springs in good shape!

Others have used a Canon TTL cable successfully to locate the XLR1 away from the camera's hot shoe.

Thanks Heimo.

I considered the TTL cable approach, but felt I’d rather have the whole system in one contained package. Think I’ll give the SmallRig a try.

Ben.
