"XLR audio input terminals that are compatible with 48-V phantom power supply".

What do they exactly mean with compatible. Is the phantom not present like in the Z1?

It is present; just something that got lost in translation. The HVX has the same capability as the DVX or Z1: you can plug in XLR devices, and choose whether or not to send +48v phantom power out the XLR jacks.
