XLR to XLR + Phantom

I have used them in the past but those mics obviously could work at the lower voltage.
Yes, for instance my AT-4073 ("Power Requirements: 11-52V DC Phantom ") would be fine, but not my 4053 ("Power Requirements: 48V DC Phantom") Once I had inadvertently switched my 302's Phantom Pwr switch to 12V, fine with the 4073, then went inside for an interview, the 4053 was almost dead, extreme distortion and low level. Took me a few minutes of panic to figure that one out.

Wondering if such an adapter exists. I'd like to use my 416 on a Tascam DR-10x recorder (that doesn't supply phantom power) Does anyone make an XLR male to XLR female adapter that perhaps has a battery compartment for phantom power? Looking for a streamlined design, that I could still boom.

If you're booming it, then you still need to monitor it, thus you must have a cable running down the cable to yourself.

At which point I don't see the point in sticking with the small lightweight DR10X, just get a recorder such as the Tascam DR60Dmk2 which is will give you just as good audio quality recorders as a DR10X (probably better) and supply phantom power at a very cheap price.

The DR10X is mainly intended for those stick microphones reporters use which don't need phantom power.

Sound Devices has a product similar to the MP-1 that is designed for use with a boom, and it works (and sounds) great. Typically worn on a belt/bag. It's like an MP-1 with an extra knob. :-)

I was using the Sound Devices MP1 for my boom op on a feature film earlier this year and it was a great little low cost set up for him that I then fed into a RodeLink Newshooter Transmitter.

But for a web series later this month I've recently got a Sound Devices MM1 that I'll use with a Lectrosonics transmitter to send to my recorder, and then I'll send a communication feed from me back to my boom op with a Sony UWP-D11 (and he'll wear a Behringer Powerplay P1 as well, to have control over the mix he listens to of my Sony return feed back to him + his boom from the MP1). Am looking forward to seeing how this plays out in practice!

Just wanted to say thank you to those who offered suggestions. I went with the denecke and so far am very happy. Looks anlittle strange at the end of a boom pole but I dont do long booms and the 416 sounds nice and clean. Happy to finally be using it with my dr-10x.

Only if you power the fethead with phantom power. It's a pass through it doesn't provide the phantom power.
