XLR Adapter Problem

Just hooked up my XLR adapter, plugged in the mic, and I don't have any sound recording. The mic is plugged into Input 1, settings for Input 1 are, top switched to mic, ATT on, +48V On. Am I fouling something up? Thanks,
 
Plug the mic into input 2, or flip the input 2 assignment switch from CH 1 + 2 to just CH 2.
 
It's working fine. If you plug in one mic, you want it in input 2 because input 2 can be routed to CH 1+2 at the same time. If you have 2 mics plugged in, you want the switch set to CH 2, so that input 1 goes to CH 1 and input 2 goes to CH 2.
