Awesome deal for an intro filmmaker package! I'm clearing out my older equipment to make room for more gear.
Included in the sale is the Canon Xl1 camera and 16x lens, original BP927 battery, two large Bescor batteries and charger, a third party 5400mAh battery, remote, MA100 XLR adapter, Pelican 1550 hard case, and a Canon ZR20 minidv cam/deck.
The camera is in great shape except for two flaws. The firewire port may have been tweaked and is not reliable. I've used the ZR20 as a capture deck since, so this won't interfere with your workflow unless you depend on a firestore or other firewire connected device.
The other issue, that I just noticed while shooting some test footage, is what appears to be a hot pixel in the lower third of the frame. It is not noticeable under well lit conditions, but it starts to come out during dark/underexposed scenes with the gain turned up. With a 1.85 matte and a little offset, the pixel can be totally hidden. Otherwise, the cam is in perfect shape.
The chimes and book pics are straight from the cam with no correction. The last pic in this post is zoomed in and the contrast lowered to try to highlight the pixel.
All that being said, I'm offering the entire package for $750 plus shipping.
These cams usually sell for a lot more, but do the the workaround someone can get a steal. Perfect for an aspiring fillmmaker who doesn't have the funds for a DVX.
