I Shot, directed, filmed, edited and wrote the soundtrack for this Knife crime campaign. It will be used on mobile phones hence no dialogue. Let me know what you think.

P.s there are two version long and short, I wanted to make the film darker and much more intense and show the stabbing, but there is so much red tape associated with these projects I was not allowed to show it, pity as I had some great footage, currently I have to suggest the stabbing.

All comments appreciated.

It is a pity you couldn't show the actual stabbing, I think it would have been more powerful that way. Now, one might say that it sort of misses the point.

I thought the visuals were excellent, and while I wouldn't have liked the red on b&w for television or cinema, I think it was a great choice for a smaller screen like a mobile.

As to missing the point, again. I do not like how the piece demonizes the knife, which is only a normal household object and even a part of Highland Dress. I realize that this is probably not your choice, but I feel that the video puts the responsibility for violence upon an object rather than upon a person... and I need to wonder if the UK is actually successful in stopping the carrying of knives if the next campaign will be against bottles or blunt objects or something else. I definitely feel that this campaign would be more successful if it focused on the mentality of the criminal rather than the tool he made into a weapon.

I think it was pretty dramatic. I knew this was a UK commercial. At first I thought this was just a commercial warning teens about knife violence but I realized if this was an American commercial it would've been a gun instead of a knife. It's a pretty powerful commercial. I like that the or lead in to the crime can be reported anonymously. Some people are afraid to report crimes.
