I just got Express Pro, and I want to upgrade my PC (am currently using a 2GHz P4 with a 128MB Nvidia GeForce 5500). I have narrowed my choice to a 3GHz Xeon single core/128MB Nvidia Quadro FX 1400 OR a 3GHz Pentium D 830 dual core/256MB Nvidia GeForce 6800. Can anyone give me any guidance on the pros/cons of each choice using Express Pro? Will I see a big difference in performance compared with my current configuration. The Pentium D is considerably cheaper, but I would go with the Xeon setup if it would substantially improve performance in Express Pro. Thanks in advance.

Avid hasn't approved dual core processors yet.

Your P4 vs. Xeon question is a hard one. Jumping from 2 Ghz to 3 would probably give you a noticable increase in speed. I jumped from a 2 Ghz to a 3.4 P4 and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Your milage may vary.
