XDCAM > FCP transfer problem

I'm having a similar (but different) problem as Fuseaku posted earlier.

I'm running FCP 5.1.4 and have installed XDCAM transfer V1.10. When I open it, click add and select the folder that contains the XDCAM footage, I keep getting a dialog that says no XDCAM files are found.

I can however open the files and view them with no problem in the XDCAM clip browser.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It appears the issue is that the footage is XDCAM EX, and the transfer utility for EX will only work with FCP 6.

So it appears there's no choice but an upgrade to FCP 6.
 
UPDATE on this:

I just figured out that you can use the XDCAM transfer independently of Final Cut to create QT's. So I installed the newer version of the software and launched it outside of FCP and clicked on import. It created files that I was able to quickly drag into FCP 5.

Sony tells you V2.0 and above only work with FCP 6. Yes if you want to launch it from within FCP, but you don't really need to use it that way.
