Hi guys,

Just a quick question. What computers are you using to edit your xdcam footage? I currently have an Imac g5 and I cant edit the stuff, (ive at times have waited in excess of 10 mins just to click on another part of the timeline)... Thats way too time consuming.

The specs on my imac g5 are currently, processor - 1.8GHz Power PC G5
Memory - 1GB DDR SDRAM

Im looking at getting a power mac g5 dual with, processor - Dual 2GHz Power PC G5
Memory - 6GB DDR SDRAM

Will this specs be sufficient to edit the footage i shoot with the ex1?

Many thanks for your help.

We're using an AMD Dual Core 2.xx GHz with 2 GB ram and Windows XP.
What editing package are you using? Adobe Premiere CS3 with the XDCAM update works very well but we've had issues in After Effects CS3 where every 5th frame rendered would be dropped. As an aside, if anyone has any experience with fixing this problem, please let me know!

Quad core workstations, clocked at 3.51GHz, 4GB RAM, multiple RAID0 arrays for video, other 7200 rpm SATA drives for audio and general files.

With AfterEffects, there is no realtime playback unless you render the timeline, but that's limited by RAM and resolution of the project.
