XDCAM clip browser question

So I was wondering if I needed FCP to use the xdcam browser to watch my clips on my computer?

I have a MBP 15 inch (2008). 2GB of Ram.

Also sub question:

My HVX sometimes makes beeping noises when I zoom in. Is this normal? not very loud or anything just sort of like...quiet beeps.
 
What are you talking about? XDCam clip browser is for Sony XDCam cameras. You say you have a Panasonic HVX...
 
Someone told me that I can use it to watch my videos.

I have tried to find out how to but I keep getting mixed answers. I just don't know how to watch the videos that I transfer from the hvx onto the computer.
 
Nader you're looking for P2CMS/P2Viewer Maybe?

00Nader00: Albeit the fact there is a MXF software that Sony created for FCP/Mac, I've not verified it being able to open any P2 MXF containers.

I have P2cms, I just cant get the video to come up. Maybe I am doing it wrong. I have looked up the instructions to no avail. Perhaps I should try to find it again... :(
