The little camera that could had a cameo appearance on one of the big primetime CBS shows last week! Season 2 Episode 12, originally aired on January 21, 2010.
I was catching up on my DVR recordings and 'lo and behold on-camera was what appeared to be a Sony EX3!
They showed the OSD Status (albeit faked for TV) and it had the memory cards, HQ 1080/24p, TCG...same layout as an EX1/EX3. The back of the camera they showed on-screen was definitely not an EX1 though because the SDI output was up near the top, so definitely an EX3.
The footage they showed looked like garbage. The camera was set to "Easy Mode" and the f-stop was at 1.9...so I think they intentionally made the camera look like garbage, either through -in camera settings, in post or both.
Later they had a handheld clip from the "news team" and the closeup on the hand uncovering a dead body looked like a typical sharp 1080/24p shot from the EX. But who knows? They could have been using the main production camera.
Anyway, cool...the cousin of the camera I actually own was in one of my favorite TV shows! w00t!
