FAQ XAVC HD v AVCHD

I've just unboxed my Sony PMW-FS5 and I'm playing with various settings. I'm coming from Canon DSLR's so I'm not so familiar with Sony's codecs. Im struggling to find the difference between XAVC and AVCHD ? When should I use the different codecs? I've got a lot to learn with and I'm sorry if this has be asked before. Just send me to the right thread and I'll be quiet ;-)
