X70 Version 3.0

Be warned that clicking the download on the US website gives you a folder that says FS7 rather than X70, although the internal files consist of all the correct looking ones. The first person I've read that tried that US version though ended up with a bricked camera. He may have had other issues, and I don't know if anyone has yet tried the EU or CA updater on a US camera. It will probably work, but I'm not willing to be the first to try :)
 
No problems updating our Canadian bought X70 with the Canadian X70 upgrade link.

4K recording time with a 128 GB card drops from 244 minutes at 60 Mbps, to 153 minutes at 100 Mbps.

I hope that the horrible 4K 60 Mbps "mosquito noise" is gone when shooting at 100 Mbps. Will confirm this in the next 10 minutes.
 
Just did a quick test, but I didn't have access to the test room that produces the "mosquito noise", so I shot in an empty office near by.

Comparing the 4K 60 Mbps to the 4K 100 Mbps data rates, the 4K 100 Mbps has a nice more even "grain" pattern. I suspect that 4K 100 Mbps footage may give a little more room when grading.

Will have to see what 100 Mbps is like on an actual job, but so far so good.
