X70 picture profiles?

I get the importance of picture profiles but am too much of a novice to have sufficient confidence to cook up my own. For some years I have happily used the Vortex Picture Profiles suggested by Doug Jensen in his guide to the EX1. But now I have sold my EX1 and got a PXW-X70 that also comes with half a dozen standard profiles and the option to adjust them so am a bit confused about what to do.

Would it be a good idea or a stupid one to plug the Vortex Picture Profiles for the EX1 that I am very happy working with into the X70? Perhaps since the sensors are different even though they both belong to the same Sony camera family it would be the digital equivalent of plugging computer settings from my old Nissan 4WD into a Volkswagen beatle?

So far about 100 fence sitters have looked at this post but nobody has responded with advice about what I ought to do, so I just steam ahead:

I gather there is a lot of discussion about pps for the X70 on the X70 users facebook page - but am no fan of facebook so that is not an option.

Meanwhile found this useful post where Paul Anderegg generously shares the profile he has come up with.

I also found this blog very useful (even though it is about Sony RX100 and A7 aimed at underwater photography) for anyone like me who is looking for a good introduction to Sony picture profiles rather than a tech spec or list of settings without any explanation.

Another interesting comment found in a different thread was that maybe there is not such a big difference between different sensors and/or profiles as all the marketing hype suggests... ie yes it is of course true that a Nissan 4WD is a very different type of vehicle to a VW beatle but perhaps not so vastly different when you compare both to a wheel barrow.

So know that I understand a bit more what the different standard picture profiles do, and what difference adjusting the different variables can make, and even how to RESET back to the standard profiles if I screw up.... heck I might even try to fiddle around a bit and see what happens:

Our fellow member Paul Anderson has developed some very useful profiles for the X70/Z150. He is VERY capable and every profile he has posted has been improved by him over time.
Go to his first profiles and then follow his subsequent improvements and comments. I am using his last profile as my "go to" for most of what I shoot!

With the X70, you can not store improved profiles in the camera (thanks Sony). The profiles must be saved to a SD card that you store in a safe place. Everytime you format your SD cards, you must download the profiles again from your "profiles" card. I think I have this right. If I am incorrect, someone here will set me straight.

Get a through understand of what profiles do!!!!!
