X70: can I remove the microphone holder on the handle?

Hello.
Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the microphone holder/ring on the handle? I don't use it and it's quite annoying when I need to put the camera in a bag.

Yes it can be removed, but you need a thin Philips screw driver.

Thanks. I do have one, but I really can't see the screws I have to work on.

Yah, it's not so simple to find them. Open the clamp, and look at the inside of the hinge on the lower section. There are square "pits" at each end -- shine a torch down there and you'll see the screws. Once you find them, unscrew them all the way and the clamp lifts off.
