X-Men: Days of Future Past

This film was great... it put the Avenger films to shame... great inter-personal drama... great writing/acting... So good.

The film was FAR better than what I expected it to be but...

a few things: 1. How did Kitty get powers to send people back in time? She has "phasing" powers allowing her to phase through solid objects. (and my biggest gripe) SPOILER ALERT:

Why did Mystique stop Magneto from killing everyone, which would have included Trask whom Mystique wanted to kill since the beginning of the film. She wanted to kill Trask and Magneto wanted to kill everyone. She stops Magneto from killing a group of people so that she may kill only one from the group. Why not let him do it and her goal would have been accomplished as well. Seems as if they should have remained allies right?

Makes no sense to me.

I think she was 'gifted' the powers for the sake of simplicity in the film.

Magneto was going to kill everyone in the president's bunker including Mystique so she had to stop Magneto in order to save her own life (and I think they stopped being allies when Magneto tried to kill her earlier in the movie). ;) Also, she only wanted Trask dead, not everyone else, because he killed/experimented on mutants. It was vengeance, not cold blooded killing, that she was after. For example, she merely incapacitated the Vietnamese officer she impersonated instead of killing him. In Days of Future Past this character is at a pivotal turning point between being 'Raven' (the troubled but good person that Xavier grew up with) and 'Mystique' (the cold blooded assassin).

Alright, I was a little distracted when I sat down to see this film, so, um... did I miss the part where they explain how Professor X came back from the dead? And if so, could someone clue me in on that? Haha

In a post-credit scene of X-Men: Last Stand it's shown that Xavier transferred his consciousness into the mind of a brain dead coma patient (foreshadowed by an early scene in the film). How Xavier got his body back is, well, movie/comic magic.

Ohhh, haha. Got it. I watched X3 a good while before I started paying attention for post-credits tags.

Really liked it and that scene with the fast dude taking out the cops brought the house down.

I'd probably look forward to Mockingjay if Jennifer came dressed as Mystique.

4/5
