X-Men: Days of Future Past

Given the story it's based on, which I've wanted to see on screen for a quarter-century, I'm rather alarmed by the lack of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Sentinels in that trailer.

I felt the same way about the original First Class trailer, but I enjoyed that movie more than I thought I would.

In my opinion, First Class was the best out of all the X-Men movies. I was hoping Matthew Vaughn came back to direct future past.

In general I'm not a fan of time travel unless it's done right such as Hot Tub Time Machine or Back to the Future. Didn't like the Star Trek reboot because of the time travel theme which seemed way to contrived to me, but maybe this one will be ok.

The trailer has no action or the Sentinels because the VFX aren't done. Singer said that himself.

Most anticipated film since The Avengers for me!

As much as I would love for Bryan Singer to pretend that X3 didn't happen... pretending that unwanted sequels didn't happen hasn't worked out so well for him historically. ;) Personally, I'm more alarmed that it's Wolverine travelling through time rather than Katherine Pryde... :D

It's not like X3 presents any real insurmountable obstacles.

This film exceeded my expectations. Outstanding movie!
Same here. Didn't know what to expect with the time travel thingy but it was great. Everything except when they showed the wolfman's "dairy air"...I mean...what was that all about? Did someone forget that there were going to be kids watching (don't get too sensitive folks...I say this with a little tongue and cheek)? ...and where was STAN LEE??? I mean c'mon!! :)

Yeah, this one was pretty good. Felt kind of like the Empire Strikes Back of the series, dark and surprisingly emotional. The highlight of the film for me was definitely the Quicksilver scene in the Pentagon; the staging, the music choice, the special FX and Evan Peters performance were all note perfect. Only wish we saw more of him in the movie. My biggest gripe would be that the Sentinel technology seemed way too advanced for 1973 but, it didn't ruin the film for me. I still feel like Bryan Singer doesn't have the strongest affinity for directing large scale action sequences (they come across as a bit too premeditated) but this is definitely his best outing in that regard. He's at his best when he's being playful like in the Quicksilver scene. But I enjoyed it. The best thing about it is that it - SPOILER- literally erases X-Men 3 out of existence.

Oh, forgot to mention, don't bother seeing it in 3D. Adds nothing to this and is a waste of money.

I was certainly relieved with how good it was considering the disaster that was X-men: Last Stand.

**POSSIBLE SPOILERS***

What I think I liked the most about the movie was the central focus on the relationships between the Xavier, Mystique and Magneto and that there was no Dick Dastardly-like villain out to blow up the world. Xavier, Magneto and Trask all wanted peace and security but though they all had differing views about how to achieve that goal. Mystique was the main antagonist (which I didn't see coming) though Magneto took up that banner for the final act. With that being said, obviously Age of Apocalypse is going to have a big villian trying to take over/destroy the world but it's freakin' Apocalypse so game on. I also thought they did a great job balancing the new and the old cast (unlike, say, Star Trek Generations).
