X-Men 3

and i'll be buying the DVD when it's released...by the way since it was my second time seeing i took more time to pay attention to other things. so i'll clear up this nobody mourned comment...

no one knew cyclops was dead until jean said it to wolverine(during their make-out session) and he getting up off the floor told X, storm "i think she killed cyclops." right after X was annihilated. wolverine and storm run into the room and break down. then the funeral and you can see the people seated wiping their eyes, people in the back wiping their eyes. then they go through the mansion and show different kids some crying some deep in thought, then it goes to kitty lying on her bed crying and bobby comes into the room. finally the last tombstone shots of jean, scott, and charles...kitty is standing looking at them. should she be mourning? we don't even know how much time has passed between jean's death and that scene.

speaking of war and "what that little fight on alcatraz"...hmmm the president said "if it's a war magneto wants..." then towards the end of the "battle" magneto said "it's time to end this war" and he and pyro start the throwing cars on fire routine.

as for the phoenix...charles said "jean's power lies in her subconscience mind and therein lies the danger. i created a series of blocks to hold it back. she developed a split personality because of it. during her training sessions it emerged and called itself "the phoenix"....

now i can see it could be the blocks created the split personality or since he said it...the it could refer to the power. so it could either be the blocks or it could be the power. i'm going with the power because the first line is lies in her subconscience. so her mutant ability isn't really something she can control, but a power or entity that existed in her subconscience.

rumor well it's on the imdb, but gambit may be in the wolverine movie.

you might not care, but going over the cast list on IMDB...chris claremont was the guy cutting his yard "lawnmower man" i saw stan lee, but i didn't know that was claremont.

I figured that was claremont.

It was the only reason i could come up with for the random boos from the audience during that short cameo.

all right have the DVD and there's an explanation as to why it went from day to night. there's a deleted scene where jean hears the little girl in the car crying, she turns to look and as she looks at the girl the sun sets. a scene they say will be on the director's cut :)

did you get the Stan Lee Collector's Edition?

yes and i'll be getting the wal-mart exclusive tomorrow. there's a bonus "film-school" DVD or at least one of the featurettes has that in the description and then there are cast interviews with them talking about their characters and how they prepared for their roles. looks like it might be interesting.

dude, 2 versions of the same film? it wasnt even the best of the trilogy... save your money... where did you get the stan lee version?

uncalled for hatred...anyway wherever the DVDs are being sold each store got 40 copies of the collectors edition and just to answer your first statement. the walmart exclusive is in a package. they're not just going to give it to me because i bought the collectors edition. it comes with the movie by itself. besides if i wanted to buy the case and have more than 100 copies it's my money, but you're entitled to your hatred.

i dont hate the film, i like it, but it wasnt the best of the trilogy and IMO doesnt warrant buying the same film twice just for a bonus disc... i'll stick to my Stan Lee Collectors edition

I think this movies deserves all the hatred it can get, it was terrible. Not only as a movie, but as an X-Men story.

i'll stick to my Stan Lee Collectors edition

best buy was selling a CD-rom thing for $1.99 for those that bought the collectors edition...again limited store availability. back to the "extras" there were a few deleted scenes that they should've left in.

watching the movie tonight with my friend dave i realized there was a serious continuity error, which dave laughed off and said no one would notice, but...

we all know the alcatraz scene went from day to night rather quickly (explained above) but what's more remarkable is that the earth must spin backwards because the xmen left the east coast in broad daylight to fly to the west coast where the sun had set. hmm...

they needed to stop and refuel at a BP along the way, and you know how long it takes to fill that X-Jet!

oh, and Bobby wanted and Icee

Though, I don't know all the details of the comic book, from talking to true X-men fans, some were disapointed in the story. But as a movie fan, I loved X-3. IMO it was the best of the 3.

Maybe my opinion would change if I knew the history of the X-men(specially the Phoenix Saga). But it was the best of all 3, can't wait to watch all the extra bonus stuff.

I think fans need to except that it will be different from the series and that shouldn't be the reason why they dislike it. Alternate universes and so on is what superhero comics are all about, otherwise they would have run out of things to write about.

However, look at Wolverine, he is a badass in the comics, but if a funeral were to happen he would not be sitting around in a wife beater and smoking a cigar. They are merely caricatures and lack depth and layers. Then again, what can we expect out of Ratner?

bought the dvd with the bonus disk tuesday.

the walmart one with the "film school" featurette??? what i find odd is that people are upset that jean grey is dead...well she died in the books several times. psylocke died and returned. professor x has died a couple or more times and returned. just find it strange when people complain they're dead - it's like if you were a true x-men fan you'd be used to it. :)
