[WTB] www.richtervideoproductions.com rental prices

Hi,
I am new here and don't know if I'm in the right forum since this is for renting not buying.

I'm lookign to rent 2 dvx-100a/b for an upcoming shoot and came across Richtervideoeqipment.com on craigslist, Their rates seem pretty low compared to other rental places. Has anyone ever dealt with them before? Do they have pretty good equipment? It seems the only camera they rent is the dvx100, but they also have tripods and avid laptops. I'm not to sure about trying a new company but they are 75 bucks a day cheaper then the other place I found. Saving 150 bucks for 2 cams is not bad and may be worth the risk. Has any one rented from them? Any experience renting form what seems like a small company?

Thanks

Their site doesn't come up on a search of google... I wouldn't do it. You always end up paying in the end. It's one thing for a deal, but reputation in rental gear is everything. Odds are it someone that just owns a few DVX's trying to keep them paying for themselves. There is no shame in renting from owner/operator types, but on craigslist... for a camera... ehhhh... I'd defer to paying a bit more and knowing that you are getting your money's worth. Though I suppose it depends on your budget and needs and client, etc etc.

Thanks for the input....So if it came upon Google would that change your mind? On one hand i totally agree with you and don't want to end up paying in the end. On the other hand i got 3 two day long shoots coming up, renting 2 cams. That's a saving of 1050 going with R.V.E. compared to video smith. Plus video smith wont ship it to me free and i live an hour from Philly. Is there anyway to tell if an "owner/operator" type is good or bad?

So I decided to go for it even though forum recommendation said otherwise. (sorry griminess, the price was to cheap to pass up) I took the plunge and tried renting from Richter Video Equipment. I was actually quite happy with my first rental. The cameras arrived a day early (was not charged for extra day). One only had 79 hours on it and the other had 134. Both seemed to be in good condition. I did my shoot with no problems and received my security deposit back after return with no problems. I would highly recomend them if anyone needs some cheap dvx100a rentals. They even sent along a head cleaning tape although it was noted the heads were cleaned regularly and it should not be needed. Camera worked great and was tons cheaper than anywhere else I found. Just an FYI of my experience renting from www.richtervideoequipment.com. I figure there are others like me who want a cheep rental.
