Wulf

So I hope everyone enjoyed this. I'll keep it updated as I work on selling the movie. Let me know what you think of my process and techniques. I think it's cool how so much changed while making this, yet now I can't see the movie done any other way. Not too bad for a 23 year old filmmaker.

So I'm looking at getting some copies pressed through discmakers.com Has anyone worked with them before? I'm only looking to do a short run of maybe 25 or so for festivals and to raise funding for the next one. Any ideas?

I came up with another idea today. I started thinking that given the budget of the movie, I could try to self distribute the thing while I do the two sequels. It's not like I'm out any money right now. Then, when all three movies are done, I can try to sell the entire set to distributors. Just a thought.

I've uploaded some production photos here: http://www.myspace.com/starspics
Also, I'm working on getting more frame grabs right now. Should have them up by the end of the night. Let me know what you guys think. Also, you can check out the two short films that I based the feature on, as well as my entry for The MTV Movie Spoof contest last year. By the way, that was done in 24 hours, so the CGI looks like crap.

Got the frame grabs up. They can be found here. BTW, you'll need to be logged on to myspace to view them. If you've read my journal, then you know the flick was shot with cameras from Best Buy. Let me know what you think of the quality. I was going for a "vintage" B-movie look.

Here's a sample

So I've been extremely busy lately and have a lot to update. Here goes:
First, I've decided to self-distribute Wulf for the time being. There's a website called Rocket Indie and they'll take care of the orders for me. I just have to ship them copies that I'll get pressed from Disc Makers. I'm also going to try to get an international distributor to pick up the foreign rights to Wulf so hopefully I can start making some money asap.
As for Wulf II, I'm almost done with the script. I wrote most of it using Final Draft but I was dreading having to go through the other pre-pro work of breakdowns and scheduling. I then remembered another program called Celtx that I used years ago, but it was more than I needed at the time. It's an all in one suite that combines Final Draft style screen writing, storyboards, breakdowns, and scheduling all into one program. I imported my Final Draft script without problems and have really found the tools useful this time around. I'm aiming to have the script finished by New Years, so we'll see what happens!

I finished the script for Wulf II a few days ago! Celtx has been working out awesome! I'm also toying with the idea of shooting Wulf II and Wulf III back to back this summer. I need a kick ass story for Wulf III, as well as a script, but I think it'd be fun, and a good way to get my "trilogy" out there!

I just finished the schedule for Wulf 2. Unfortunately, we may have to move the shooting date up from June to April because Ariel wants to move down to LA in May. I can get Wulf 2 ready to go by then, but I'm not sure about Wulf 3. My plan is to finish getting Wulf 2 ready to go, then try to get funding. The goal would be to get funding for both movies so I can finish the trilogy before Ariel leaves. At the low end, I need to be able to pay for the effects. At the high end, I'm looking at about $50,000 for paying actors, new gear, and really good effects. Either way, I need to get a car by then ($1000) and I need money for me to live ($800 for one flick, $1600 for both). My other deciding factor in all this is whether or not Shaw and Mitch can have the effects ready to go.

As far as Wulf 3, I now have a pretty good outline, it just needs to be turned into a treatment and script. But, I'm going to hold off until I know how much money I'll have to work with.
