So, I just got a T3i about a month and a half ago and I love it, but I would like to have a 60d instead because I like the build of it better. My T3i has absolutely nothing wrong with it and is pretty much the same as a 60d in about every way except for the outside design.
For those of you who don't know, here are the few differences:
Design (build quality, controls, and size [T3i slightly smaller, the smaller size has its pros and cons])
Max shutter speed (1/8000 on 60d, 1/4000 on T3i)
Battery (60d uses LP-E6, T3i uses LP-E8)
number of ISO Increments (with magic lantern installed this is not an issue)
Kelvin White Balance (Again, the same on both cameras with magic lantern)
Slightly different AF system
T3i has Video digital zoom that is able to digitially zoom in without loss of resolution (really cool, especially if you don't have a telephoto lens)
T3i easier to use with better auto modes
If anyone has any other differences, feel free to list them. The differences are minor and few, but the 60d better suits my need. For many, the digital zoom that the T3i has alone makes their decision between the two cameras. They both support magic lantern, have manual audio, the same sensor, processor, and an articulating screen. The photos and videos that come out of the two are identical in quality.
anyways, let me know if you want to work out a trade with me if you have a 60d. As I said, my T3i is in perfect condition, and depending on the condition 60d I'd be trading for, I could give up to $125. As far as I've seen, the T3i's are selling for around $100 less than the 60d's on ebay. If I can't find anyone here I might list my T3i there and buy a used 60d. But I don't really want to deal with the fees and stuff so if this works that'd be awesome!
Bottom line: If have a 60d and want some extra cash, trade me for my T3i and still get to use your old lenses, and have identical quality photos and videos. The build of the 60d is slightly better and it has its advantages, but the video mode of the T3i is if anything better having everything the 60d has+digital zoom
