WTS Broken DVX100p

Hello all!

My name is Zach, I just signed up here because a friend of mine told me that this might be a good place to get advice on how/where to sell my broken DVX100p.

I got this camera earlier this year and it was awesome. About 6 months ago I (stupidly) put it on one of those tripods that has 1 leg, and rested in against a chair. I know, idiot move. Well during filming it tipped over and hit the wall pretty hard. Upon turning it on, it displays the message "Auto-off Cylinder Lock", and I cannot film.

I have gotten estimates from a couple different repair shops- some saying it will cost around $250, another quoting me $900. Since breaking the camera I have purchased an HV20 which has been much easier to use, and does the job for me.
I want to sell the camera in it's broken condition, and I am not sure if people would buy it in hopes of repairing or it, or more likely buying it for the parts(body, lens, etc.).

Anyway- I am not sure if this is the right place to sell it, but if so, please feel free to make an offer, or guide me in the right direction. Would it be smart to put it on ebay or craigslist? Any advice would be helpful.

i'd try ebay but you'd have to in detail describe the state it's in on there. i've seen broken cameras sell on there all the time.

I have had luck looking for offers here, but I would recommend you sell it on eBay for best return...
