WTF Music Video

Here's a music video shot on the DVX200. Shot in V-log, and it was the first time we tried shooting in 10-bit mode using the Blackmagic Video Assist 4K. I bumped up the saturation a bit, but much of the colour was just good ol' fashioned gels and a red backdrop kicked with red lighting. Some of the scorpion shots were on the GH4 (we just pointed 3 cameras at it and hoped it would do something we could use).

There's some explicit lyrics in there, so just a warning in case there are sensitive ears around.

I'm trying to do more and more with my DVX. The more of these vids I see, the more inspired I get to push it further. These are the kinds of things we should have been seeing a year ago when Panny released the camera. Better late than never. This cam is a real player. Great stuff.

Thanks guys, glad you liked it! I've personally been finding it tough to use the DVX as often as I'd like because of the form factor. I just shot a feature on the GX85 because the form-factor was just right for the project (lots of shooting in public places where we didn't have permission), and after using the GH cameras for the last few years it's sometimes hard to break out the DVX when I'm shooting outside of the studio. It by far delivers the best picture out of everything I have available to use, but it's soooooo big comparatively. Hoping to do a few more of these creative shoots on it.

Very creative. Like the background transitions starting 3:15 to the end. Pretty cool. Nice scorpion too! Who caught the thing? The Blackmagic seemed to work well. Were you pleased with it?

Thank you! I hired someone to come to the studio with their pet scorpion, then filmed it with three cameras for about a half hour.

That has been the only shoot that I've used the Blackmagic Video Assist as a recorder. Love it as a monitor and might use it more often as a recorder were it not for the pricey media (I only have a 64gb card and the compatible media is quite expensive still).
