WTF is Aspect Ratio 3:00:0

In FCP 3 they have different aspect ratio's and two I never heard of, which are both thicker bars than 2:35:1 which is 2:55 and 3:00. What the hell? I never heard of them but as far as cropping, the 3:00 is pretty sweet. Anyone know what they are usually use for? Anamorphic?
 
Must be superwide cinemascope. Maybe for panoramic projections or 180 degree video projections such as those used in trade expos etc ?
