Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone has a F35 front pl plate that has been converted to Nikon mount that they want to sell?

Cheers,

Sam

Anyone know where to get a new front plate? Easier/cheaper to make one?

Most of us who have them got them modified by member who worked at smallhd. It was not cheap, $1500. They had access to cnc tools to do the work. Front plate was cut so the original PL Mount Screw Holes were kept intact. Then they machined a plate which sat behind the F35 front plate and held the fotodiox Nikon Adapter.

It would be a lot of work to do. The plate you need to hold the Nikon mount is necessary because the place the PL Mounts is to far from the sensor. If the PL lens options were around I would not of done it.

Also the iris control of any lens without a ring is terrible. I pulled the iris tab from my F35 Nikon mount because it was scratching the back of my lens and really hard to get to anyway. The solution was only use Nikon lens with Iris ring. All the time my Nikon lens loosen also because there is no locking mechanism.

Keep hunting because there are some around. A few guys did different versions. I believe there is photo of a Canon mount hidden in the big thread. The reason there are extra F35 front plates floating around was the lens connector was added and many cameras were sent new front plate from Sony, some never bothered to upgrade. You can tell if you have a Silver Sony PL Ring it is the updated plate. Funny because many of these cut off the lens connector on the front plate. My Nikon Plate is made from a "Dummy" first generation plate with black PL Ring (which also lacks the lens connector).

Also I have seen multiple PL mounts not Sony made on the front of F35's. Clairmont is one.
