wtb: LCD screen and Tape Mechanism for HVX200

I am in the process of resurrecting a camera that got damaged. I am looking for the LCD screen and also the tape transport. I have priced out new ones from Panasonic and now I am looking at my options for used. If anyone has a 200 that "bit the dust" but the screen or tape mechanism still worked, I would be interested in talking. Both are VERY easy to dismantle from camera.

Seems like a dumb question to ask, but have you searched through the marketplace for a used HVX? I don't know what the price from Panasonic is on those parts, but there are quite a few used HVX200s available on this forum.

Also check eBay. Sometimes you can get an otherwise non-working camera for cheap and salvage the parts you need.

Thanks for the suggestion. To purchase both new, the total is around $1,200.
I have looked at used cameras on Ebay and they are still more than that. I have not seen any "selling for parts" , yet... but I am still waiting.
 
Don't know about the tape transport, but have you considered just buying a 3-4" LCD monitor and mounting it on the camera? Probably end up being better quality (cheaper, I would guess, than replacing the on board LCD)
