WTB Kessler K-Pod

Hey Crew;

I'm considering purchasing a Kessler K-Pod tripod (later anticipating to get their 12' crane as well), and I am curious to know if:

A) Any one here has used the Kessler tripod w/ Hercules 2.0 head

B) Has one for sale (w/case)

I'm wondering if, at $900, is worth the money and if the tripod has dependable, usable features.

Thanks!

First off, mine isn't for sale.

You won't find a tripod more suited for crane work than the Kpod....really top notch. It is pretty heavy to lug around, but will work fine for other uses if you don't mind the weight. I wouldn't use it as an everyday tripod, but for what it is for, it is a great value. Though not cheap, all the Kessler stuff is pretty well built.

The Hercules is very heavy and very capable for the crane, bit less so for typical shooting. I don't believe it is a fluid head, but it can still be used, just realize your pan shots will suffer a bit. The K-pod uses a 100mm ball mount, so if you have another head around it will fall right into place. Kessler has an adapter to put a threaded head on top of the Hercules, so if you have something like a smaller Manfrotto, that is another option.

PM me if you need other info.
