Looking for a used Glidecam 4000 Pro in very good condition. Let me know how much you want for it. Thanks.

I have a glidecam 4000, that I would be very willing to get rid of. It has hardly been used and would part with it for $300.

still have this glidecam maverick?

Yup, easier to use right off the bat. Easier to balance, and you wind up with a monopod at the drop of a leg. I used it the very first day I had it to shoot a project for Curb Your Enthusiasm. We shot on the move in Hollywood on the street and in the Ripley's museum. The steddiepod rocked!
The glidecam was ALWAYS a pain, just in balancing it, then gimballing too. Best thing I ever did was get rid of it.

very interesting, thank you much for the heads up. Is the shoulder mount and handheld stabilization on the steddiepod very good?

Yeah, maverickprods, I'm curious about this product as well. Based on your recommendation, I started a thread in HARDWARE about the steddiepod. I am trying to get more testimonial. Thing is, everyone seems to be likening this to an overpriced monopod. Are they incorrect for doing so?

I am not in the habit of throwing money away, nor do I want to futz around with set up. Let me make this quite clear, if I didn't in one of my earlier posts. OUT OF THE BOX, I shot a special presentation for CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. And shoulder mount, what shoulder mount? And the whole thing is hand held stabilization.
It is what it is. Some people are going to like it, and some people aren't. I had a Glidecam for 3 years and hated it everytime I took it out. The set up time alone everytime I took it out put me off. I also had a vest, not the bitchin one, but the soft one.
You either have to spend a bunch of money or 4 or 5 hundred. The one I would have chosen over the steddiepod is made by a company out of Germany. I think it is called ABS. Full chest vest and spring arm. But again, it is more pricy, about $1300.
Go test all this stuff, I did after the Glidecam.
Just remember, this is just my opinion, it works for me at this stage, I am sure I will find something better down the road, but I am sure I will spend a lot more money.
