WTB: Broken Prosumer Camcorder

Billy Pilgrim

Stye in my eye
I'm looking to buy a broken prosumer camcorder of some sort, to be used as a prop in a film. The film is about indie filmmakers, and I do have a few broken camcorders, but they're just small handycams. I really want the prop camera the characters use to have the pro look. I'm not looking for anything specific, but something along the lines of a DVX, or GL2--some kind of mid-range hand-held camera. It doesn't need to work in the least--in fact, that might be optimal. It might even be better if it's just an empty body without the mechanical parts (It just needs at least the lens, so it'll look like a camera). I'm really not looking to spend much on this at all. So if anyone has what I'm looking for, please PM me. Thank you.

You would be best suited to rent a working pro cam for the day your shooting the shots with the cam in the scenes you need. Renting a DVX for about $120.00 U.S. for the weekend is alot cheaper than buying a broken or non working pro cam.

I can't see anyone selling you a broken pro cam for anywhere near that rental price.

I need it for far more than a day. It's for a feature-length film. Plus I don't want to risk anyone knocking over or dropping and breaking a working camera. Who knows if an actor in the scene will accidentally break it.
