Hi all,
So the title sums it pretty much, I just created my production company, it is not intended to make a living out of it, I just want to build a nice cinematographer reel. Its pretty difficult to find opportunities for a cinematographer over here, That's why I want to produce my own films.
My problem is that I'm unable to create a good enough screenplay that will be interesting enough to send it to festivals to gain audience. Or even good enough to tell a consistent and attractive story. That's why I need a screenplay.
The plan for this short film: it would be a low budget short film, mainly financed by government grants and my own money. The idea is to rent all the equipment (professional) and hire some professional crew. So let's talk business, pay, all people should be paid (except me hahaha), so it will be a paid job, how much, not much, or not enough, I would pay more but budget is budget(expect around 300$ - 260€,but it could be more). Shot in a hpx3000 (probably). Obviously all this would be possible if I get the grant (first I need to present the filming plan, script, etc...). Keep in mind that the goal of this film isn't to get money but to serve as a reel for everyone involved (and hopefully open the doors of festivals for future projects).
The basics, what kind of script I'm looking for:
- Location: Ideally it would happen inside a single building, be it a house, office, theater... (night or day is not a problem).
- Characters: 1-3, no specifics about age (no kids please)
- genre: I'm mainly interested in drama or thriller (other are welcomed) (something emotive and touching preferred). What interests me is a twist that will impress viewers (i know that's what everyone wants...)
- If there is any dialog it will be adapted to Spanish (but it would be maintained if it ever gets to be dubbed).
