Hi,

2-day shoot at the most. - 8-pages.

I trained primarily as a writer, (MFA) and took some directing, editing and acting classes, I've numerous shorts and a clutch of features. I'm hoping to shoot my first short with my AF100 and nikon lens. How does one go about finding a producer who's good but not asking for money at least not an arm?

I know it sounds stupid, but I've invested money in a camera, lens, boom mic, and now I have no location money, need an apartment and a small restaurant. And I need a producer to handle things so I can concentrate on getting the best performance out of my actors especially on the day of the shoot.

I guess I need someone who needs something on their resume? Any tips? I'm not trying to offend anyone - I'm just not liquid, but I've provided the hardware that I'll be needing for this and future shorts...

Needs:
Scheduling & Co-ordination.
Casting - (I can handle)
Finding free location.
Semi-pro boom operator
DP

lol, dude indie film makers dont pay for things like locations or actors

Im sorta in the same boat, i teamed up with a local guy i met in a class who has lots of film set experience and experience coordinating, writing up casting notices and talent releases. He has no equipment and hes not a writer.

I am a writer, and have all the gear so together we seem to be making progress. Ive shot about a dozen or so things on my own, but im looking to put together a team because i want start making higher quality pieces.

Just get your buddies together if nothing else and make a few nice shorts.

Thanks for the encouragement. I do know this, though, don't you think? My post is simply a humble statement of my current impecunious state of the union, if you know what I mean. It's code for: need a talented producer that I can't afford to pay and here are a few things I'll need?
