wrap party suggestions?

Still, I would rather have it at a house and buy a keg and a few bottles of hooch, maybe some burgers that have it at a restaurant and have people pay their own way.

Either that or don'tdo it at all.

Reimbursing for expenses is generous in the free/amateur/indie world. But if you throw a party, then you throw a party.

I'm afraid so. It's on the producer. The choices are:

Throw a party entirely on your dime that you can afford. Advise, in advance, about any limitations on your hospitality (e.g., open bar closes one hour after doors open).

or...

Don't throw a party and have a [somewhat] disappointed crew.

or...

Throw a party and try and charge anything or have the crew have to chip in and be the talk of the filmmaking community for a good while. And not in a good way.

Option 1 is the best.

Yeah, I know money is tight on a low budget film, but you definitely don't want to have cast or crew chip in for any expenses for a wrap party, they already put in alot of hard work and time for free, the least you can do is reward them with a few beers and burgers... but again I know money is tight..

So like some said, you're better of not having anything at all, then to have something and have cast & crew pay.
