So today i went outside to mess around, I had my brother shoot on my HMC while i just did some skate tricks. So i go inside and put the clips on my computer and this is what happened

on the left is the clip when i imported the clip into Sony Vegas 9.0 Platinum's Project Media bin, and on the left is what it looks like when i put it onto the timeline. So either I'm blind or there's a huge quality loss. I also export the clip in .avi completely uncompressed, and it still doesn't look any good....

any help?

print screen button the cropped in photoshop, or you can just use the capture screen shot button in vegas.

Well that's probably your problem. Try the screen shot thing in Vegas (I'm not familiar with vegas). What I do is open the clip in quicktime and Go to File -> Export -> Then choose PICT.

Vegas can do this automatically. BUT it exports at whatever quality is in the preview window. To get the full res, you have to set preview to best > full. If you don't, then the above happens.

haha well thank you very much, i think i had the preview on Good quality and i had to put the aspect ratio back to 1920x1080, preview looks much better, thanks guys =)

On the Mac side, the canvas is a low resolution proxy only, and I would guess Vegas might approach it the same way

BTW, you can copy/paste in your graphic or save to a file directly from the preview monitor. I love that kind of Vegas feature...
