Wow! DVFilm Maker 2

Hi!

Wondering if anyone has done any testing, converting 60I to 24P with DVFilm Maker 2?

I just converted some footage shot with a DSR-300 to 24P and the results are amazing. I've spent quite some time fooling around with MagicBullet, Twixtor, ReTimer, etc. and have never gotten results as good as DVFilm Maker's.

It's blazing fast and very high quality.

I'm in preproduction for a big corporate video project, before these tests the DVX100A was the camera/format of choice. However I've been unhappy with the noisy images we're getting shooting sunrises and sunsets, and overall dark mood settings that require certain degree of underexposure. Right now I'm seriously considering shooting with the DSR-300.

Would love to hear other's impressions.

At first I was impressed with the footage that was converted from my DSR-250 using DVFilm but then when I found Magic Bullet, there was no comparison, in my opinion. I think MB is far superior, especially with its ability to clean up DV artifacts and the looks that come with the package.

Mmmm....that's strange, I've tried MagicBullet several times, and when dealing with images with a lot of detail, I get a lot of flickering. On the other hand, DVFilm Maker handled detail much better.

Look suite is very good, but I preffer Digital Film Tools 55mm v4.0
or Film Lab, much faster.

I'm going to run the same footage through a MagicBullet demo and compare closely.

Re: Wow! DVFilm Maker 2

Does it makes any sense to use the DVfilm Maker 2 on PAL video?

Re: Wow! DVFilm Maker 2

Yes I know, I have used the demo now and got only a god still-picture from the video. The video has motion but I don't get to much motion blur.
