FS7: Would you agree with this guy?

In principle, I would tend to agree with this guy and I love my FS7 and would buy it again in an instant, but this guy talks a lot and has some strange opinions ... the grip is one of the things I love about the camera and I use it all the time. You can use it as advertised, when the camera is shoulder mounted, but also it is a great handle, when the camera is mounted on a tripod. Also it is much easier to go through the menus ... and so on.

What he says about HDR btw, is totally nonsense. The FS7 can of course record HDR. You just record in SLOG3 and your recording has an even wider range than 2020. There is also a way to convert your recordings directly in Catalyst Browse, if you need this for some reason.

But all in all, at least in my humble opinion, the guy is correct, when he says, the FS7 is the best buy for your money at this moment. The only bad thing about the camera is the Autofocus, but this is something most people don't use anyway, so it is no big problem.

And BTW, if the guy doesn't want his Inferno any more ... I wouldn't mind putting it to use ;-)

I would put it that way ... if I hadn't bought the FS7 two years ago, this video would not have driven me to give it a look. Actually I got interested seriously, when I watched the tutorial vids from Allister Chapman and Doug ... then I was hooked :love4:

Back then I was just thinking of buying the Ursa ... luckily I didn't ...

And just for the record, I still believe the FS7 offers the most bang for the buck of any camera ever built by mankind. Followed closely by the FS7M2.

Not to get too technical, but in terms of rec2020 color space the FS7, FS7mkii, nor F5 can capture the full rec2020 color space. I didn't watch the video, but if he says it's not full rec2020 at least in terms of color he would be correct.

Two things to mention for Amadou, who started the thread. If you are interested in the FS7, you will need a baseplate (I have one from Vocas) and the Shape-Grip-Extension. Without the extension, the Grip of the FS7 is really unusable, IMHO. But with it, it is really great.

Thatguy in the video has some weird opinions, but I can agree FS7 is better than FS5...putting it all incredibly stupidly simply. On spec alone, FS7 is superior to FS5, as it should be. Holding either in my hands, FS7 is superior to FS5. My FS7M2 is the best camera I’ve ever owned up to now, and I own a lot of cameras. I wouldn’t want an FS5 as a B camera to my FS7M2, I’d want another FS7.

+1 and for those who didn't work with it, I just want to mention again ... the handle is great!

Actually the C300-2 takes any lens with adaptors and yields a beautiful image. But it is the number one choice of clients in rental houses over the FS7. So much speculation about Mobutu. I'll see if I can find other videos that will trigger Mobutu discussions. There will always be at least one or two schmucks to take the bait and start speculating about Mobutu. I am waiting for the moron who will say "I bet Mobutu does not own a C300..." Which one of you Troll hunting schmucks will say it first? The competition is on. For all others I highly recommend the C300 mk 2. But this is not the forum for it. So I will see you on the Canon forums.
