hey guys
shooting a large funeral scene next weekend and using a jib w/ my 7d. i am planning to run an hdmi cable down the jib and then with an adapter put it into this portable dvd player:
http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs...10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921665793588
I chose this one simply because it is the only one at walmart in town that has av in... so I am just curious if this will work. From what I understand there is a cable (possibly included with the purchase) that goes in the 3.5 av in hole and breaks out to a standard composite cable... to which i will then use this cable:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...18365&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_1518wt_1167
Which will be in an adapter that I bought at Radio Shack that is a HDMI to HDMI mini adatper.
let me know if this will work before I go drop money on the dvd player and regret it!
thanks so much
jared

i did look at that actually but i didn't pull the trigger on it bc i always take forever to make a decision... now i feel my back is against a wall to just get something to work

the lcd4video or haier if you can find it seem like ok options too, especially since the lcd4video includes a mounting arm (as well as the batteries and cables). one thing about that ebay cable though that you mentioned for the sony is that shipping from hong kong can take a couple of weeks, at least from those ebay dealers. you could probably pick that up from radioshack too though. you could just buy the sony and try it out and if it doesn't work you could just return it. did you wind up building your own jib by the way?

i am using the school's jib hopefully. three students have it checked out that day so we are all going to try to get our shots in and pass it to the next student. being poor sucks because i can't buy what i need and i have to rely on other people's stuff... in this case, the school's...
