Would SD DVCpro50 50p have been possible ?

If dvcpro50 25p is 50mbps, wouldn't upping the framerate to 50p take it up to 100mbps.
Or were pana stuck with the exsiting codecs ?
(ps i know this isn't possible with the current hvx, just curious).

It would involve making a new format. I'm sure that as long as you're making a new format anything would be possible, but the point of including DV50 was that a) they already had it, and b) it's bitstream compatible with all DV50 gear. And all DV50 editing systems, etc.

So if they'd made it 50p that would be, essentially, a new format. Not necessarily impossible, but not compatible with anything else either.
